This is the seventh post of the “Why You Should Run Your Business Online” series. If you have not yet read the previous posts, head back to the beginning to catch up.
This is a short post, but it discusses a benefit of running your business online which which I wanted for years with offline software, but rarely ever received:
Value Component 6: Try Before You Buy
Online vendors typically offer a 30-day free trial offer so you can try before you buy.
The Role of Test Drives
When you are finding and choosing online software, there’s no better way to judge if a solution is the right for you than signing-up and trying it out.
This is where the rubber meets the road; where you will try each solution on your shortlist and say, “Hey this is cool and intuitive” or “This is hard, but powerful” or “This solution stinks!”.
Another nice detail of test drives: if you do choose to use this software, all of the work you did during your trial period is not lost!
Test driving software takes a bit of preparation in order to get the best results. I cover those details and more in my free guide, “A Guide to Finding and Choosing Online Software” which you can download for free when you sign-up for my newsletter using the form at the top of the column to the right.
However, test drives would not be possible, or would be more difficult to get arrange, if online software vendors did not offer free trial periods.
Join me next time for the 7th value component and more examples of the advantages of running your business online.
