RSS stands “Really Simple Syndication” and it’s a standard format that some big governing body came up with that allows you to create a “feed” for your blog and your readers to receive updates in a “feed reader”.
RSS feeds serve both sending and receiving parties very well: readers can subscribe to a feed and get all their blog and site updates in one place (without having to bounce from site to site – great for staying on top of it all and providing a big boost in productivity) and blog and site publishers can “push” their content out, giving them a reach far beyond their own site.
In the video below, Phil Simon demonstrates how to stay on top of the latest news and information using Google’s RSS reader, “Google Reader”.
